EVRST Music Revives the Iconic Fort Boyard Soundtrack

EVRST Music has released a new, contemporary cover version of the iconic Fort Boyard soundtrack. The instantly recognizable theme from the popular television show was originally composed by French composer Paul Koulak and became one of the most memorable TV themes of the 1990s.

For Bastiaan de Waard and Robert van Berchum, two of the producers behind EVRST Music, the composition has always held a special meaning. Driven by their appreciation for the original score, they first began working on their own version around two years ago. The project was eventually put on hold as other productions took priority.

Recently, the idea resurfaced during a late-night studio session when the original Fort Boyard theme came up again. That moment inspired the team to revisit the unfinished production and finally bring it to completion.

For the new version, EVRST Music joined forces with composer Julien Vaeremont, who became part of the production team for the project.

The goal was to preserve the adventurous and instantly recognizable character of Koulak’s original composition while giving it a fresh, cinematic production and contemporary sound quality. The result is a modern interpretation that pays respect to the original while introducing the theme to a new generation of listeners.

The release also carries a charitable purpose. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the family of original composer Paul Koulak. The remaining share will be donated by EVRST Music to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
